Memorial: George Marino, Nilesh Patel

George Marino who mastered Thirteen Tales from Urban Bohemia died yesterday. He was one of the legends. A real sweet and calm individual. About three quarters of the way thru 13 tales he said “ya know, I master a lot of greatest hits albums these days. This sounds like a greatest hits”.

We also lost Nilesh Patel several months back. He mastered the 1776 record for us and was mastering our Earth to the Remix record. He was in my estimation the best dance music mastering engineer and utterly irreplaceable. I hear he was a great guy, too.
