CTT: Gran Torino, Other Boleyn Girl

(2008) I just loved this movie and Clint is amazing but then again I’d be grumpy too if I was surrounded by such bad actors all the time. |

(2008) Ham-fisted made-for-tv production makes this not only unwatchable but also makes these sometimes great actors seem like ten year olds who just got handed their first script. |

Gran Torino is one of the most beautiful movies in the whole world. That’s more than a movie, i don’t know how to call it but all i can say is that clint eastwood’s movies changed my life and everytime i watched one of them, i cry, i cry for sadness or happiness but everytime i know i’ve learn something about life. eatswood is one the best director, he does uncredible things. Million Dollar Baby is also an amazing movie. Really good choice Courtney
i quite liked ‘gran torino’… probably one of my favourite films of 2008, even if it was a bit predictable. avoided ‘the other boleyn girl’ like the plague and your review makes me glad i did
if you haven’t seen them already you should check out ‘lars and the real girl’ and ‘fanboys’. if you don’t like them, try not to rip into them too hard as it will break my heart!
I enjoyed Gran Torino, but the rest of the cast were shockingly bad!
Agreed I’d be grumpy too – I didn’t see either one courtney, But…… next to barbarella, Fantastic Voyage has to be some of the best kitsch of the past that for some reason brings these classics into mind’s focus. Watch out for the white corpuscles tho!
Spot on reviews again. Don’t see many Cinema reviews from Mr T-T though. Would love to know what he thinks about Avatar. X
Good question- Courtney, do you ever go out to see current movies? I mean, I would imagine there are so many older movies to watch- and the home theater tech is probably better than a lot of movie theaters (plus you don’t have the crappy seats and shitty food to contend with)- Just wondering…
Dear Beautiful Courtney (i’ll never forget you talking to me and saying my name) so.. i have to talk to you not about these 2 films cause i haven’t seen them but about John Fante i told you i like so much he wrote Bandini and

Now, since my last post on this page a couple or so days ago I have seen Avatar myself. (pesonally I think it’s a beautiful and also the most visually stuning film ever made) but I didn’t come hear to do a movie review…All I wanted to say is that Jake Sully (the Avatar not the human) shows more than a little resemblence to our beloved Courtney. Please don’t think I am being rude…not liking the great man to a 13 foot tall blue alien here, but the Jake Sully Avatar looks so much the same, is elf like and becomes a beautiful being.

Saw Avatar last night- Kind of Dances with Wolves, meets the characters from Dark Crystal and Aliens…
Gran Torino’s supporting cast was no better than my local community theaters’ beginning actors class. There was an almost audible clunk as Toad’s lines came out of his mouth and hit the floor. I speculate that Clint and his crew have bought the hype that surrounds his movies so much so that they said “Nah, we don’t need to review the dailies this time.”
