What would you recommend we drink to accompany the different Dandys albums?
Yes. I’m going to say the first record is Tanqueray and tonic with a lime. Come Down is really Jager with a beer back. It’s thick and foggy in your head. It’s a young man’s drink. Whiskey and soda, of course, is Thirteen Tales. Courvoisier on the rocks for Monkey House.Great! What the hell is Courvoisier?
Courvoisier XO – it’s a cognac that very rich hip-hop guys drink. Y’know, on second thoughts, I think Come Down is Chartreusee in the winter, or a Pims cup if you listen to it in the summer. Odditorium is definitely French wine, and then you can move straight to port – actually, I think Earth to the Dandy Warhols is more like that. Odditorium, there’s a definite New York thing to that. I think it’s tequila with a Rolling Rock beer back. It’s a very New-Yorky beer. Hey, I should put this online to go with our Capitol Years 1995-2007 release.

Beth says: God that’s so funny. You could apply this question with vehicles. For example, I think the first Dandys album is a motorcycle, Come Down is an airplane, Thirteen Tales is a boat, Monkey House is a (sleek) car, Odditorium is a spaceship, and Earth is… the spinning thing we’re all stuck on.
The interviewer asks a question about drink recommendations and then comes back with, “Great! What the hell is Courvoisier?” Kinda thick me thinks. Research your subject or am I thick and he’s actually just taking the piss.

No doubt Courtney is a great connaisseur in grand crus , he wrote already a some famous but also rare chateaux.. Courvoisier , oh perfect. I wonder if Courtney wouls appreciate a poire Williams in eau de vie .. oh i ve got an idea..!
For me it is Champagne with the Dandy Warhols .

ed says: How bout drugs? Dandys rule ok is straight meth. Come down is high quality weed chased by a few Red bulls. Thirteen tales would have to be coke and played on Repeat of course. Monkey house would be for pills. Good pills. Odditorium no doubt- shrooms. And I think Earth really would be an inspiration to listen to in re-hab.
Beth says: I think you could really do this with a lot of things, household pets, US cities, phobias, flowers, a specific reason you’d break up with someone, etc. There’s a Warhols record that’s somehow reminiscent.
