Hey Drummer Boy
November 28th, 2009Hey, remember this time?
And if you look over to your right (on the webpage, not in real life) you can listen to/download “Little Drummer Boy” via the widget and listen to it at least three or four times. Are you even too lazy to look to the right? Is that what you are telling me? Fine,

Whose playing drums? Doesn’t look like Brent…unless he is wearing a wig..and glasses..and got a slight tan. All possible, but…I’m confused
wait let me change that to
i love this song ! when the Dandyz played it at Paris last year that was magic ! it’s nearly christmas, and christmas without drummer boy is not christmas !
The dandyz look so young on this video, that’s sweet ! (well, i don’t wanna mean they look old now)
I re-download this every year when I’ve lost it among the crap on my computer, so thanks for putting it up again! My christmas song of choice. And everyone in the HMV where I work is gonna know it.
Hey, Edgar, that is Eric Hedford. He drums on the Dandys first two records (and The Black Album). This is the second version (well, third) version of Little Drummer Boy that the Dandys released (http://tinyurl.com/yfy9ofr). It came out in December of 1997 on Capitol Records. The other two versions (which are similar to each other) were released by Tim Kerr Records in 1994 (http://tinyurl.com/yfxyne6). The second, “Guitar Heavy” version of the song is a bonus track on the 1994 release.
Whoops, that should be addressed to Steve.
When I was a kid I thought Joan Jett had the best version of this song. Then I heard this and from then on hers was second. Fuckin great live, too. Wish I could get out to the west coast in a couple weeks but its probably not gonna happen. Oh, and Steve thats their first drummer Eric. Fathead joined in 98 I believe.
I love The Dandy Warhol’s version of this song, always have. I am looking forward to hearing it live Portland! It isn’t truly the holiday season for me, however, until I hear The Waitresses singing Christmas Wrapping
I’ve always loved the Dandies version too. This was always my favorite Christmas song, and coupled with the greatest band in the world, it’s even better.
I try not to listen to this for most of the year because it’s too much like Christmas, but that magical time is fast approaching so what better to listen to the best Christmas song ever.
oh just discover it ! soon Christmas, yes ! not too lazy…see the widget ! yep !
j’adore! merci !! Love you !
Anybody remember this version with Der Bingle and David Bowie? I like the DW’s version better…
i do, Mike, but i love The Dandy Warhols version better .
Where can I buy a pair of Y-Fronts like thems he’s wearing in the video???
Yeah, they’re so sexy! lol!
My favorite holiday song, too. I performed it with my school choir in 2nd or 3rd grade and even then I had a sense of the melancholy buried within. Dandys channel Beach Boys/Byrds/Velvets in one bang. Sum greater than parts. Dandys look great, CTT never more affected (except maybe in “Good Morning,” same era – this is a compliment). Wish the ‘Boy’ was a little older and um, filled out the shorts a little more.
