The Dandy Warhols Are Sound is amazing. It sounds really good and I’m so happy it’s finally released. I rushed my summer by waiting for it…and now I can relax….ahh. Keep up the good work, but that shouldn’t be too hard ‘cuz you guys are The Dandies. True musical geniouses that have never and will never be matched by anyone….always number one in my book. You all have amazing tallent and I’m so proud of you guys. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
Really awesome I wasn’t expecting it to be so different. Really enjoying it.
oh i’ll never stop loving and supporting The Dandys … i feel maybe too excited i get mixed up with ordering and i panic a bit .. ok ok Cool like Kim Deal !lol!
Gothman thanks for this link and i manag to order ! in fact with all the items i ‘m not sure if i take the bag, the t-shirt too .. or just the vinyl.. all is tempting …i go back to order love you all ..
Lany so happy you’re back !kissous
I have always liked Welcome to the Monkeyhouse. However, The Dandy Warhols are sound is far superior to Capitol’s Welcome to the Monkeyhouse, and is now becoming one of my favorite Dandy records. The only credit I can give Capitol is their mix of We Used to be Friends is stronger and the track order on Monkeyhouse flows better. That aside TDWH are sound is amazing! It is no wonder major labels are having problems making money and are going under. Capitol really missed out on a gem and my ol’ Monkeyhouse cd is now in my recycling bin. -Love from S.E. P-town!
it works at last ! thanks to Gothman !
by the way, in London i’ve been talking about The Dandys to check in Camdem and Soho they share my so good musical taste ! lol! they do all know The Dandys ! i love England by the way ! good night and gros bisous, my purse is lighter but i’m glad yep!
awesome, been waiting years for this…amazing record, it deserves to outsell monkeyhouse.
fucking nice one.
wonderful. can’t wait to see them in albuquerque and OKC
I’m pretty floored, I have to say. I love it.
Great, amazing, superb etc etc etc etc. But all the tracks are equally as good as before but in a different way. I love both records.
One huge exception though. “Heavenly”. My god, honestly and no kidding, the first few bars of this new version took my breath away….literally !! Now, I have been listening to music for a long time and I like lots of bands and the Dandy Warhols have always been my favourite and sometimes songs send a shiver down your spine, but never has a song taken my breath away before. Eyes watered up too but not in a crying way. This is the nearest I have ever known of getting a head rush purely from music

amazing song SillyBilly and how!
OUA ! i’m listening to TDW are sound since its out and everytime i listen to it i’m on my ass ! seriously, this album is amazing. I knew (for a very very very long time) you were genius and this album confirm it again. The Last High (a gem) followed by Wonderful You (another gem) … this mix is impressive … I looove I’m Over It. But I think Burned is still my favorite on both albums. I re-discover some songs in a different way and point of view. TDW are sound is much better than capitol’s Welcome to the Monkey House … but I prefer We used to be Friends’s Capitol’s mix (that must be the only positive point).
Thank you for this album. Thank you to be so close to us. Thank you to make us dream with those songs. Thank you to inspire me in my own songs, in my life. Thank you to make our daily life a little bit better. Thank you for your gigs, your kindness, your posts, you albums, your songs, your frienship etc … Finally, thank you to make music. Never stop it, never, never, never.
downloading it now…. ohhhhh the antici……..pation
delicious.
Thank you Martine. Unfortunately only here every couple of days or so….but working on fixing it. Bisous
i love you
so cool sonday with your songs ..this “Last High” is so more rythmy well i adore..and wonder : is it Matilda’s voice singing “a long time ago we use to be friends” ? and Heavenly.. la merveille des merveilles…oh oui! merci .
Great CD!!
Nice to here how the original mix sounded. I only agree with the prevoius post that “Capitols” We Used To Be Freinds mix was better then on here. Every other song sounds great, as I amagined before “Capitol” re did everything.
Nice to have this in my Dandy collection!
Please find a way to tour Boston/ New England area soon.
Best,
Dan
I agree that both albums are great, but I like the original (Are Sound) better. It’s crazy how Capital couldn’t accept it the way that it was, but in a way it’s good because now we have two really awesome albums to listen to because of it. I like both versions of everything, but I prefer Are Sound. I like the original We Used to Be Friends better. Thank you guys ( the Dandies ) for giving us the best music ever created and for being the best.
There’s a problem with the Apple Lossless format download. There’s a loud ‘scratch’ sound during the last second of about half the tracks. It sounds like an artifact from the conversion to the AAC format. It happens during playback on Sonos, iTunes etc.
I love the album, but the download needs to be fixed.
Affected tracks are:
Scientist
Wonderful You
Plan A
