The Wolfmen
October 21st, 2009Here’s a track from a record Jacob and I mixed. They’re called The Wolfmen. It’s a couple guys from Adam and the Ants with a dude from Massive Attack (and others) and Sinead O’Conner even sings on one. The record is fantastic and has just been picked up by Sony for release in March. This track is about Marilyn Monroe so I call it “Marilyn Monroe”. Not sure what they’ll call it.

Thought it was both wonderful and brilliant in equal measures and have been trying to find it for download since. Oh, the Wolfmen album from a year or so ago is also worth checking out. Superb stuff, although this track is even better ! X

SillyBilly says: “Modernity Killed Every Night” was the name of the album released last year. Like a pumped up modern T-Rex with lots of other bits thrown in including lots of Dandy type melodies. If you want to know what Iggy Pop would sound like singing for the Dandy Warhols then listen to track 3 and see if you agree.

Lany says: SillyBilly….I was just browsing iTunes again today, looking for something new (or, well, new to me atleast). I had never really heard anything by the Wolfmen, so on a whim…I purchased the song While London Sleeps. I love it. I wasn’t sure which song to buy first, but I decided to go with this song because I’ve had this thing for London guys lately…something about them. Anyway, I think I’ll go back and download somemore tunes by them. Got any faves or good recommendations?
SillyBilly says: Hi Lany. While London Sleeps is on the Modernity album. I haven’t got access to the album this moment in time so can’t comment on which are my favourite tracks. (and I can never usually remember from song titles alone) Anyway, I downloaded this particular Album from E-Music (which is a super, cheap and legal place for indie, punk and alternative music) If you google E-music and then type The Wolfmen into the search field you can listen to the first few seconds of all the album tracks, (and singles) for free. Hopefully the you can make your own mind up. I will still try and get back with my personal faves soon
