They Don’t Make ‘Em Like The Used To: Original

This is the original Autotune® sound, by the way.  I was looking for a good example before but just couldn’t think of nor find one.
Today this showed up on my “you might like” YouTube box. Wtf?  Um….okay.

Well here it is: the sound that threatened some of mankind not much more than a couple weeks ago and prolly still
threatens someone today.

So I still can’t think of a song that I’ve ever loved which employs this effect.  I used it on our version of PRIMARY (The Cure) but
ended up taking it off.  Maybe I’ll post a mix of it back later.
Actually I took it off because it’s the first time I’ve liked the way my voice sounds singing “yelliie guy” style.  Mr Yellsworth.  Yells Yellington.  It doesn’t really sound like me.  I love that.

    what about peter frampton, is that the same? not great, but ‘do you feel like i do’, on kgon, on a july night around sundown driving around with scotty is pretty awesome. i feel like i’m in dazed and confused.

    Wish they had this at Karaoke. I’m stuck in a Sinatra rut cuz you can talk your way through old blue eyes. I wanna be singing some Gloria Gainer and Whitney from back in the day. A man can dream…

    Do they have karaoke for like acting out movie scenes yet? “YOU play Stanley Kowalski!” They should do that in bars, have a little stage, act out against a giant video monitor. Maybe then I would come. (No.)

    I’ve done that at home with friends. Magnolia is a great script for it. I’m more Dinero than Brando though. Not that he was in Magnolia or nuthin. I’m just saying…

    For a SPLIT second it reminds me of The Dandy’s cover of “All I Have To Is Dream” by the Everly Brothers.

    Only for a split second.
    The rest reminds me of… nothing.
