Matt was an incredibly sweet person and a huge fan of our music. I’m so glad that Brent and I had the chance to meet and get to know him a littlebefore he lost his battle with T Cell Lymphoma(TCL). The last time I saw him was in June, we had dinner in Pomona, CA before our show at the Glass House. He was cheerful, friendly and so brave. It’s hard to meet someone so cool and know how hard they’re fighting for their life.
He will me missed. Rest easy Matt, no more suffering for you.

I love the Welsh, John Ford, Maureen O’Hara and Roddy Mcdowell but this is still a gruelling two hour bout with near suicidal depression any way you slice it.
After recently touring the midwest I couldn’t help but think that everyone who came to our shows must feel like Luke Wilson in this movie at least a little bit every day except without the hijinks and hilarity..
Sound check is over for The Dandy Warhols. The band has dispersed to the grassy courtyard next to the bar where they’ll be playing tonight and Zia McCabe — keyboardist, percussionist and organizational brains for the Dandy Warhols — takes a bag of rough-hewn tobacco out of her purse and rolls a cigarette as her 5-year-old daughter Matilda runs by in pigtails and a black dress. McCabe shakes her head and takes a sip of her beer as she wishes aloud that her daughter will steer clear of the bartenders who work at the venue; she’s heard the women in question cursing violently while discussing their reveling ways and wants Matilda nowhere near them.
Not a terrible way to spend the afternoon but the hammiest of ham writing with super mega action budget signified the end of the terminator series for me.
The Dandys will be playing a the new L.A. 101 music event on November 3rd with Silversun Pickups and Matt & Kim. Because of the nature of this special event, the Dandys cannot offer advance tickets to our fans. In fact, tickets are on sale now and are going fast, so please get yours as soon as possible.
I hope that these aren’t he two last shots from the just completed tour. Where are all the fan submitted pics? Not in my inbox, I can tell you that. Thanks to Zia and Court for sending in updates from the road.
Evan and Pete.

PS. I should check out MySpace/Facebook before I go shooting my mouth off, lots of fan pics there. Like this one by Yanayaya:
So the Dandys are at the Clean Air Clear Stars festival Saturday night, but we’re hoping that you’re making your way there, well, right now, because the fun starts Friday night with some supercool bands and other debaucheries. And on Saturday, there is a whole Oregon Trail wagon-load of Beat The World bands playing. Oh yeah, like who, Gothman? Well, our newest band, 1776, will be playing at 1pm, you do not want to miss these kids. At 6pm, our returning champs, The Upisdedown, take the stage, and at 8pm it’s our tour latest tour partners, Sprindrift. Then the Dandys go on at 9pm. Then the world blows up. Then there is Sunday with a bunch more groovy cats.
If you’re in Portland, catch the remaining Beat The World artist Logan Lynn as he plays MFNW tonight, 9pm at East End. Check that out, and check out Logan’s great new record, From Pillar to Post.
Did you skip the opening page of the website? I know I usually do, but we have a couple of tunes for you to listen to this time around, or covers of “Sister Golden Hair” and “You Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere”. Click the banner at the very top of the page to go there. Just look at those Dandys… those dirty hippies.
