CTT: Sunday Roast

Ok ok I know that insta-ing food pics is about as pedestrian as a crosswalk but when you’ve got a friend who makes Sunday roast come out‎ looking like sushi, and he’s quit his bigshot head chef job and has all summer free to come over and make dinner at the Odditorium you go ahead and insta that shizz.

I believe this btw was the crispy skin halibut in grapefruit and pink peppercorn beurre blanc on thyme braised fennel ‎and macerated grapefruit salad. Or should I say “salad” (do they look like salads? Nope they look like Jackson Pollocks). I wish we were still eating them right now.

This was lots of fun. The first one “Flashman” was superior but that’s like getting a Ferrari and complaining about the glovebox. I’v got two more. I doubt they are in sequence but at this point who cares. These books are damned hard to find.

Well, it was fun while it lasted, eh? The Dandy Warhols’ performance at Taste of Randolph was cut short by Mother Nature Saturday night as promoters of the Chicago street festival pulled the plug after the heavens opened up and dumped both water and electricity in ridiculous amounts. You can’t have that! Dandys were bummed, and hope to return to Chicago soon.

Website Changes Coming

Seems your Dandy Warhols have had the same general website template for over five years. So I figured it’s probably time to change it up, since everyone just looks at the world wide web on telephones now in the future. While there is never a good time to initiate this kind of operation, the band is recording a record and nothing else is going on, so it is probably the only time to do it. “SO WHAT GOTHMAN?” So if you see the site lookin’ green around the gills, just know that I’m working on making it look better, and that my trial and error methods of interweb administration is probably the closest you will ever be to watching a great master like Picasso, Rembrandt, or Julian Schnabel work. Yes I totally threw out a Schnabel!

Zia McCabe for Sun Cedar

Our l’il Zia McBabe has done grow’d up on us.

Peter G. Holmström knows how much Zia’s non profit Sun Cedar means to her, so he made her a gift of these stenciled trees to offer fans on her birthday. (Thanks Pete.)

Zia’s one birthday day request is that everyone who can, joins her Kickstarter campaign for Sun Cedar. Sun Cedar manufactures hand made, all-natural aromatic ornaments and gifts in a green shop staffed by ex-offenders and the homeless.

Zia believes whole heartedly in this project and would like for you to do the same. Hurry, it’s a very limited supply.
