We have rocked Australia. But now BrizVegas is fukt. I have never experienced the kind of tropical pummeling which this particular spot on the planet surface is currently receiving. Driving to the airport was like a Mad Max movie, but wet. Cars dead in the water…. on the freeway. 70 degrees and hailing the size of my knuckles. God I hope after all the delays I’m sitting thru now that I can escape this sometime tonight.
Onward to Europe.

With great sadness we must report that our show with Nina Hagen in Berlin on the 24th has broken up. Our sincere apologies to our dear friends in Germany who now continue to wait. We promise we’ll try our best to get back to you in 2013.
With the open date now for the 24th we have added Amsterdam’s Melkweg to our itinerary. Tickets go on sale this Monday, 19th November at 10:00 HERE.

Spinner is premiering the latest video from The Dandy Warhols, the Thomas Rhazi directed “The Autumn Carnival.” This video is the third released by the band in promotion of their latest album, This Machine, and was written by Dandy frontman Courtney Taylor-Taylor and Bauhaus/Love & Rockets’ David J.
“The song came from David J and I discussing Something Wicked This Way Comes,” Courtney says. “The theme here is how, as we age, our view of youth and our feelings regarding what it means become paper thin and almost totally unrealistic.”

I have worked my tail off bringing bands together for something I feel very strongly about. In the last week I’ve organized an event that will bring together 17 bands and 3 DJs to stand united in support of democracy and our right to vote. Our right to make decisions collectively as a community and a vibrant independent city. This event will represent Portland in her truest form, and send a message to our government that the artists and citizens of Portland are willing to stand up to them when they are not serving our city and her people they way they should be. Besides that, it’s gonna be one helluva fun mini festival! Tons of music and performance artists, food carts, raffles and all kinds of creative, good spirited, family fun!

Who: This event is being organized by Zia McCabe with The Dandy Warhols in cooperation with Clean Water Portland PAC. Clean Water Portland is leading the campaign to qualify the Portland City Council’s water fluoridation decision for a public vote. The campaign is working to gather the 20,000 valid signatures needed to qualify the referendum measure that will give the public a chance to vote.
What & Why: An all day, three stage concert to promote the public’s right to vote on the controversial water fluoridation decision recently announced by the Portland City Council. The event is aimed at highlighting why the City Council’s decision, which was directly contrary to three previous public votes in Portland opposing water fluoridation, should be put to voters once again through a citizen referendum. Petition signatures will be collected and all funds raised will be donated to Clean Water Portland for their signature gathering effort.

Here is Emerson Newton-John’s Race car. He was kind enough to show his support of The Dandys in his race in Baltimore and we think his sponsor is a worthy cause for you to look into.
Pink and Blue for Two (PB42) is a cancer awareness campaign that links the strikingly similar statistics between breast and prostate cancers, while urging couples to remind one another to visit their doctors regularly for screenings. They emphasize the importance of early detection of BOTH breast and prostate cancers equally. Pink and Blue for Two unites people everywhere in the pursuit of global breast and prostate cancer awareness, and to spread the work together in the importance of early detection.
Now if he would only let me try out his car. I love this guy.
